My memorable tour in Lanzarote by car hire

We left that day like this at 7:10 am, with Easyjet (it's like family already), so the logistics of arrival at the airport was difficult, if not trying to take a taxi from my house (in Legazpi) and avoid being out more expensive than flying. What we did was this: let my car Canillejas without blue zone, and we took the bus No. 200 that passed through there at 5:25 and it costs € 1.

From the airport of Lanzarote (between Arrecife and Puerto del Carmen) to our apartment, we took a taxi for 13 €. We choose not to rent a car the first day because we were going to rent bikes, but if you want to do there are many shops offer rental cars.
The apartment where we stayed is The Tulips, in Puerto del Carmen. The price / quality ratio is very good because it cost about 20 €! night / per apartment bathroom and kitchen and we had to ourselves, and community pool in the yard.

Upon arrival we strolled along the promenade of the town (area pretty beach tourism), breakfast (whole area is full of cafes, bars, shops, etc ... as any seaside) and after making the purchase We've taken things and we have the first swim at the beach. The town itself has much to do, it is only peculiar architecture of the houses (all white, roofless and shallower), then we get tired of seeing other people.

In the afternoon, we rented a mountain bike (13 € / bike) and we took the bike path from Puerto del Carmen to Arrecife, to see the capital of Lanzarote. There is a very attractive city and all he has visited is the Castillo de San Gabriel (is closed), the Castillo de San Jose (now a museum of contemporary art) and Charco de San Ginés, near which we take a beer Dorada and Tropical, which are produced there.
On the way back almost got dark and we did not give us much more than time for dinner and sleep, because we were exhausted from the trip.

Thursday 18

Just go have breakfast and we returned the bikes and we rented a car (we got it for 80 € / 4 days). The first was the visit to Timanfaya National Park. On the way to the visitor center we made several stops: the first has been to see up close the growing vines ... just curious because irrigated with water from dew! Then we made a climb to one of the more than 300 craters that has the island. The views, although not one of the highest, were impressive land ...¡¡ what color! What a mountain! What little vegetation!

By Park Visitors Center have come on the 14 h, and we've seen 2 documentaries, 20 min each on the park's history and volcanic formations of the island, before seeing the exhibition. Ojo! They close at 15:00 There, we said the national park entrance is forbidden! Can enter only going to perform the "Route of the Volcanoes" by bus. So, we who are more cool than anyone, we decided not to do that route, and although we did not see as important, we prefer to surround the park and visit sites with fewer people. Surely we will be one of the few little character who went to Lanzarote and have not visited Timanfaya volcanoes! The case is to highlight ... hehe.
From there we went to visit the Salinas de Janubio, Los Hervideros (an area near the sea, formed by the lava flow, full of holes where the water gets very very cool), Lake Clicos (colored yellowish-green. We saw it from below and may be more nice to have a panoramic view) and El Golfo, a small village where we ate a rich Chópite pescaítos and rich.
Then we visited Playa Blanca, a town with a protective figure I think, but do not differ much from other villages. Its streets are very very clean, much as people trash ... no one there!!

And with that, the dinner and others, ended another eventful day.

Friday 19

The first thing we have done today has been to visit the Cesar Manrique Foundation in Tahiche. It is the former home of Caesar. Admission costs € 8 (a bit expensive for my taste) but this and the other things that we see today are typical of those we should not miss on the island, if you see something, of course. The house in question (I did not live wrong type) is constructed under 5 volcanic bubbles and each corresponds to a room. It has a huge garden, swimming pool and views of the lava flow.
After we were intending to visit the cactus garden but we took the win, because leaning out a stone fence and saw inside did not come or little signs of the species or any information. So, got a picture from the outside (the structure was beautiful) and we saved the entry.
Any visitor to Lanzarote have to visit Jameos Water (another 8 €), also work of Cesar Manrique (his spirit is all over the island ... is an idol). The term means jameo gap created inside a volcanic tube in which water infiltrates. At a restaurant here (nicely blended into the environment) and an inner lagoon with white crabs that glow in the dark (protected). After this lagunilla will continue through the edge of it and move to another garden with a swimming pool ... yes yes ... an ordinary pool, painted white. To my shocked me because I do not quite hit the rest. Then he goes to two other plants, where there are exhibitions and information on volcanoes and other ... I felt a little long J. From there, 1 km short, is the Cueva de Los Verdes (8 €), also formed the same way as the caverns. It is a rather large cave tour is 1 hour. There are sections where it reaches a considerable height.
From there, we went to Arrieta, a swim at the beach ... good, rather give us a nap on the sand in the shade and eat a little that it was already 17 h.

Then we went to Mirador del Rio. Legally it is a place where you have to pay a fee of 4.5 € to enter an enclosure from which you have panoramic views over the cliffs and the island of Graciosa, but closes at 17:30. But we, on the advice of the ticket in cactus garden, we were later than that time to try to see the sunset, so we had to climb a wall (no one watched). If you stay only in the part of the veranda and walk toward a vais repetition antenna will see best views and also remains of ancient military settlements (the cast of Cesar Manrique there too ... what a guy!).
The sunset was spectacular ... like almost all the sea, with a little haze but good. When the sun was about the 21, hour canaria.

Saturday 20

Today we got up early because we wanted something else catch the first boat to the island of Graciosa, which left Órzola, at 10:00. Leave your car parked in the blue area, where you could not put parking farther from 2:30 pm, ... and we play it, ... J and we were lucky because the crane took him or anything. The boat to the island takes 20 minutes to arrive and costs 20 € i / v The island is very quiet and has only one inhabited village. People who go, often goes to the beach (sand is white) and moves with 4 x 4 or bike. We ... we opted for the bike (10 € / bike). We bought some groceries (several) and went to the beach for shells. The beach is beautiful and the water comes in waves and spotless. Here we swam for a while and then we went to Amber Beach, near which there is a rocky, volcanic formations imitating arches, very pretty.
From there we went to Peter Barba, a town that is inhabited, and from there to the people out, Caleta del Sebo where we caught the boat back at 16:00.
18 to 20 have time to relax and at night we got cute and went to Teguise with intent to dinner, but everything was closed, ... not a soul on the street. On the recommendation of a local woman went to Nazareth, to a restaurant called lagomar, lujillo more or less, which does not eat too well for my taste and is somewhat expensive but the site you're on is precious is located in a rocks, and is available for being accessed by walkways and tunnels ... Very nice.

Sunday 20

On the 11 we left the house with a fixed destination, but to lose have gone to the peasant's museum, an exhibition of local craft production, which is free but ... without explanation and nothing for a change.
From there we went to the famous Sunday market in Teguise. He is like a track, which sells everything, but neither has much more special. We strolled through the village and from there went to the beach of Famara, which is a very nice dune system. Here we do not bathe but you can do, although tourism is loading the dunes.
Then we returned to the park interpretive center to walk rutita shows us one of the volcanoes (which is outside the national park, of course, if you do not fine) and, after losing a bit through the town of Tinajo, finally caught a sand road and reached the base of White Mountain, a crater 1 km in diameter from which there are beautiful views. When we went down we went to the beach hollyhocks, black sand black, very cool, but also because it was dark and we bathed was cool. From here, a little house on the sandy path. A villager told us that insurance was not included rental cars in these roads.

Monday 21

The plane left at 9:20 so ... We only had time to pick up and the rental car at the airport.

Practical of advice and anecdotes

-eye with signaling in most of the island is scarce or inadequate signage. In walks or on the highway and there is not even reflective.
"In the museum's rare to find explanatory signs or anything like that
-Wear sweater for the evenings cool. The maximum for the day is 27 degrees

Tour in Lanzarote through car hire

A fact scenario Water and Fire. It is an island with a rocky landscape, Lunar, crossed by roads that wander the desert us. Here we will never have smooth feeling, kind of Earth where you can lay a blanket and relax. Visit Lanzarote is the closest thing possible to a Journey to the Source same World. The Territory has a primitive. We plan different routes to permit visits to Order and reach its most interesting. For example, from Arrecife can follow in the footsteps of Cesar Manrique, the most famous Conejero, popularly known as the People of Lanzarote.
Reef Anchorage was before Villa, and its port is the reason for the Core Population. Visit the Castillo de San Gabriel, where it has installed the local archaeological museum. As travelers take the road north, the first stop will be in Taro de Tahiche, where the Cesar Manrique Foundation occupies the old Casa del Artista. We will continue further north and visit the Cactus Garden, where they have collected more than 1,000 species.

Let's enter the Cave of the Greens, a Tranche Volcanic where nature has been expressed with great beauty and without any human intervention.
Do not despise the center of the island because we are entering a world where patterns of living together Surviving Nature. Here are Old Aljibes and Windmills; crops that survive on the moisture they absorb the lava fields at night; vineyards from which we obtain the Malvasia.
We will continue in the Central Island to Teguise, the ancient capital of Lanzarote and Villa de Porte Recio Conserving few palaces and convents.
From the top of the volcano Guanapay, Crowned by the Castillo de Santa Barbara, Teguise seems an island in the middle of White Lava Black Sea.
But the real jewel of Lanzarote is the Timanfaya National Park, a desert Created by Volcanic Eruptions, between 1730 and 1736, Lava covered much of the island.

I recommend, Timanfaya When you visit, do not go with the rented car but with the bus that is making the council to visit the park. Why?, Then let go first because all the buses that arrive and leave every 2 Bus pass a rental car. Realize that you left between Guagua Guagua and minimal time. Therefore, to expect touches.
