Lanzarote, summer and winter in the Canary Islands
Lanzarote is an island vacation that I could enjoy more in the Canaries. Incredibly, they have year-round sun, fantastic beaches and make it always bustling and cheerful. It really is a small island, having only about 55 miles long. Yet millions of people flock to it every year.
Like all the Canary Islands, Lanzarote is a volcanic island and enjoys low rainfall and a climate throughout the year alone. You can travel to Lanzarote in both summer and winter where the landscape will surprise even retouched by the eruptions produced in the eighteenth century. Some people say their other-worldly landscape. It is best to book a rental car to explore the island Lanzarote.
Lanzarote authorities are very strict when it comes to what can and can not be built, so the local landscape is still a virgin. Most people reach the island by plane to the airport in Arrecife, located south of the island, in Puerto del Carmen.
There is much to see and do in Lanzarote, from the Wine Museum to the Castle of San Jose. This castle now houses a restaurant and a gallery of modern art. It is a kind of surreal, because it has military artifacts throughout the building and its surroundings. Another must see in Lanzarote is the Aquarium, the largest of the Canary Islands, and has all kinds of marine species.
As I mentioned earlier, it is best to rent a car on the island. A car will allow you to move easily and visit the areas where public transport does not arrive. With this freedom will not be difficult to complete visiting all the beaches and coves of this island.
Lanzarote beaches ranging from the splendid black sand beaches of white sand. The black sand is due to the volcanic past of the islands. Puerto del Carmen, or Playa Grande, as it is known, is one of the white sand beaches of the island's busiest, and is located in the town of the same name.
Playa Blanca is located south of the island. In reality these are two manmade beaches, ideal for water sports and for gliding. These two beaches are just over half an hour away from each other.
